Origami

The lady opposite me has a skill
She has a bag of paper
She fold a piece
To make it small
But produces a tall crane

She concentrates
She doesn’t stop
She fills the bag completely

Wait, she takes a pause
Finds another bag
And digs deep inside.

More paper? I wonder
And watch in awe
As she pulls out something colourful.

Just a candy, popped in the mouth
As she resumes her nifty work.

Folding, chewing
Fold away
How many will she make?

How many will she make?

Her bag is filling
100, 1000?
Perhaps they are a present.

Some child will smile and
Thank her granny for her
Non stop folding efforts.

“You’re welcome” She smiles
And disappears to the store
To buy even more paper.

The Tokyo conform!

Tokyo, Tokyo,
Wherefore art thou Tokyo?
Technology is rife
and the people act like Pinnochio.

Must dress smart,
Must conform,
Society is so demanding.

Must work hard
Must play the right card
Or, it's me my boss is reprimanding.

Heels, make up, dressing higher
And higher goes my skirt.

Boots and blush,
Brave the rush
And charge through the crowds.

Push, push,
Click, click,
Emails, phones.

Noisy people,
Angry people,
Customer drones.

I have a headache,
I can't see.
The lights are so blinding.

Now, it's night,
Tokyo is so bright and full of friendly faces.

Smile and Laugh
And look around
And remember what a great place this is.

HAIKU - Kiss

Magic on the lips,
Feel heart beating, crazy love.
Dwell in the moment.

HAIKU - Sunrise

Morning dew, me, you,
Walking through the green meadow,
Sunshine new, rising.

Typhoon

Typhoon drowns
Lashing sounds
Coming at my window

All curled up
Won’t wake up
And see what is outside

Mud and rain,
Puddles again
I can’t walk down the stairs.

So much water
Wet slaughter
My crops have been smothered

Shovel and clean
Does it mean
We push through and survive?

Heavy winds,
Clattering dim
I hope my house is strong.

Fingers crossed
Wrapped up warm
I’m counting till it’s gone.

HAIKU - Chime

Suddenly loud sounds
Wake me from my deep slumber
Heavily ringing.

HAIKU - Winter

Feet buried in snow
Icy cold, fingers frozen
Cold blizzard blowing.

3 Blogs...

I have another blog,
In which my thoughts, I log.
It's all about stuff everyday.

There's dogs and frogs on THIS BLOG,
And stuff that will make your heart clog;

Daily life,
As a wife,
Living in Japan.

Rebuilding, rehoming,
It's all very random,
but, up-to-date and sometimes candid.

And, then I might write some thoughts,
A few lines,
Perhaps some rhymes,
And it is HERE that you can read them.

They might be funny,
They may make you cry,
But, they are just words that belong together.

And, if I have time, I like to wander
To places new where I can ponder.
When I am there,
I have no care, But to write about all I can see.

So, in THIS BLOG I will take you there and tell you all about the life of the lovely LEE!

NightDay

Walking in the morning dew
Sleepwalking through the earthquake drill

Listening to the birds as they take flight
Stopping the TV falling in the night

The ducks quack, one flies in the sky
Even though the ground shakes, I don't open my eyes

The dog leads the way, following the ground
Somehow I know what to do, even without light or sound

A fresh day is upon me
A night's sleep interrupted

Cold air, warm sun
Dizzy, so tired

Take a deep breath and welcome the new day
Close your eyes, back to sleep and let the memory go away

3/11

The floor pounds,
Smashing sounds,
One big thud.
Hit the floor hard.

Bruises, shock and pain.

Sirens blare,
People stare.
Disbelief and fear.

One big wave.
Early grave.
Doesn't stop.
Fills the shops,

Forces cars away.

Run, fast run.
Water comes.
Heart beats racing,
Wave still chasing.

Find the highest place.

Crack and crumble.
House is rubble.
Nothing here
But screams and fear.

Lost my wife,
Lost my daughter.
Where is my son?

Pray they are safe,
Pray they are alive.
Pray they knew to run.

Cities gone.
Heartbreak is long.
Never ending pain.

Big shakes rock.
Big waves shock.
Death and despair.

Water won't stop.
Temperature drops.
Cold, alone and scared.

Japan ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥

Wibble, Wobble,
Tipple, Topple,
That's what I can handle.

Great big shakes,
Nightmare quakes,
Not sure I can cope.

Gas explosions,
Nuclear reactors,
Aftershocks and more.

This isn't the time,
This isn't the place
to say we should have prepped more.

Japan is strong,
Japan is amazing,
but on this, can't stand alone.

We all need strength,
We all need love
For this country we call home.
