The floor pounds,
Smashing sounds,
One big thud.
Hit the floor hard.

Bruises, shock and pain.

Sirens blare,
People stare.
Disbelief and fear.

One big wave.
Early grave.
Doesn't stop.
Fills the shops,

Forces cars away.

Run, fast run.
Water comes.
Heart beats racing,
Wave still chasing.

Find the highest place.

Crack and crumble.
House is rubble.
Nothing here
But screams and fear.

Lost my wife,
Lost my daughter.
Where is my son?

Pray they are safe,
Pray they are alive.
Pray they knew to run.

Cities gone.
Heartbreak is long.
Never ending pain.

Big shakes rock.
Big waves shock.
Death and despair.

Water won't stop.
Temperature drops.
Cold, alone and scared.

A Poem

I can't write a poem
Without a pen in my hand,
Because there's something about my emotions
The keyboard doesn't understand.

Feelings join together
Like the words on the page,
Words of sadness and sorrow,
Or sometimes of rage.

Happy thoughts often flow
And on paper I jot
Everything my mind thinks,
Which is often a lot.

A poem can say so much
And not mean a thing,
Yet, just a few words
Can clarify so many things.

It's a form of expression
My brain can comprehend.
It's my thoughts and ideas
From the first word to the end.

Japan ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥

Wibble, Wobble,
Tipple, Topple,
That's what I can handle.

Great big shakes,
Nightmare quakes,
Not sure I can cope.

Gas explosions,
Nuclear reactors,
Aftershocks and more.

This isn't the time,
This isn't the place
to say we should have prepped more.

Japan is strong,
Japan is amazing,
but on this, can't stand alone.

We all need strength,
We all need love
For this country we call home.

To fame they climb,
A rocket-fuelled ride,
Standing by each other’s side.
Eyes are blinkered,
Ears are blocked.
When one makes a move,
The other looks shot.

Who earns the money?
Who gets the fame?
And when it all goes wrong,
Who is to blame?

Behind the curtains,
Behind the scenes,
If only all of it could mean
Something concrete,
Something sure.
There is no love,
This isn’t pure .

No stepping forward.
No stepping back.
Stuck in a time warp,
Staring at my lap.
What to do?
What to say?
All I can do is step away....
